Hello, All —

I’ve been told that the Year of the Rooster is a time for Practicality, Productivity and Planning.  Advice is to “complete your projects, pursue your vision — no procrastination!”  That advice I’m taking to heart and applying to The Kim Loo Sisters documentary, which continues to make progress, both on the road and at home.

The most recent good news first:  A clip from the film is now part of  “New York 1942,” the newest art installation at Gracie Mansion celebrating its 75th anniversary as New York City’s official mayoral residence. Quite a feat — and a great honor —  for four Chinese American sisters whose former residence in New York was an efficiency apartment in Hell’s Kitchen!

The installation is on view through December 2017.  Please come take a free guided tour of Gracie Mansion and see the Kimmies’ special place in the renovated Library.  Hours are Tuesdays only, at 10 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM and 3 PM, rain or shine.

After we ended 2016 with a private preview screening/fundraiser in San Francisco, 2017 welcomed us just as warmly with a screening in Minneapolis-St.Paul, the Kimmies’ hometown.  In addition to a full house at Parkview Center at Mall of America, the Twin Cities gifted us with a 5-minute interview from radio station KFAI.  Please take a listen.

We have plans for more private screenings/fundraisers this year.  Next up: April 15th at Main Street Arts in Saxtons River, VT where I used to live.  Please get in touch with me if you’re in the area — I’d love to put you on my personal guest list!

Warmest regards — and pursue your vision!

Leslie
