Dear Friends and Fans of The Kim Loo Sisters,

Now that 2016 has come to an end, 2017 has just begun, and Chinese New Year is just around the corner, we want to thank you so very much for your generous support and for being a member of the “Kimmies community.” After the huge boost you gave us during our Indiegogo campaign in the summer of 2015 — raising over $10,000 towards post-production costs — we knew it was the right time to take the documentary on the road.

Between June and December of 2016, we gave private preview screenings/fundraisers to packed houses in New York, San Diego, Ashfield (Massachusetts), Chicago and, most recently, San Francisco, where we garnered a stellar review from Asia Times.

At all the screenings, members of the audience asked probing questions during the q&a, saw parallels between their own family’s lives and experiences with those of the Kimmies, learned about important, even landmark, events in American history for the first time, and encouraged us — some with checkbook in hand — to finish The Kim Loo Sisters documentary so that it can be seen by a large and diverse public. Time and time again, they told us, “This is a story for ALL Americans. This is a story that MUST be told.” We resoundingly and wholeheartedly agree! In fact, we’re hoping that 2017 will be the year that we finish the film and send it out into the world.

Their encouragement and support — and yours — puts even more wind in our sails than when we began making the film almost 9 years ago. In 2017 we’ll continue to travel around the country giving private preview screenings/fundraisers. We hope you were able to attend one of our past events, but if not, please follow the Kimmies on their Facebook page where you’ll learn when and where the next screening will be held. If it’s in or near your city, please let us know — we’ll be happy to put your name on our personal guest list.

Happy New Year — and Happy Year of the Rooster!  May you enjoy health and happiness, peace and joy.
